Malala Yousufzai was given the Nobel Peace Prize for 2014 on her championing the cause of Children’s right for education, especially for girls. This is the young girl who was brave enough to ask for her right of education despite the ban from Taliban in Swat on Girls’ Education. Taliban tried to silence her in a nearly successful attempt to murder her point blank but she survived and now is the symbol of Girls’ Rights for education in the whole world.

Some 25 million children aged from five to 16 in Pakistan are out of school, 14 million of them girls, according to Alif Ailaan, an education campaign group.

We need education, not weapons. We need peace not violence. We need a literate Pakistan not an atomic one, period.
When in Feb 2012, the Oscar award was given to Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy on her documentary “Saving Face,” ironically certain Pakistani media and journalists started blaming her as western stooge who defamed Pakistan for which she was awarded. No one tried to understand the pain of the women subject to acid attacks and how to stop them. We have to understand as Pakistanis, that People pointing towards the evils within Pakistani society are well wishers of Pakistan no matter what their intentions maybe.
In 2012, 150 acid attacks happened in Pakistan. This trend has not stopped, instead we blame Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for defaming Pakistan. Had the Pakistani nation used half the strength they did to Malign Malala Yousufzai and Sharmeen Obaid, we would have raised enough public awareness to end these evils.

Co-directors Habiba Nosheen and Hilke Schelmann’s documentary film Outlawed in Pakistan won the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Research’ under the news and documentary sub-section of the awards.

The documentary focuses on Kainat Soomro, who was raped by four men while she was on her way back home from school in the city of Dadu. The film follows Kainat’s struggle for justice.
This Emmy may be a western ploy against Pakistan, but who are the people committing these crimes of rape with almost zero convictions, aliens?
